Cutting Costs

My company wants to buy some new HR software. I am quite concerned about this purchase and I am trying to persuade them that it is better not to purchase it at the moment. I think that because the payroll software seems to be a really good price at the moment and they have not updated their HR systems for a while they think that it would be a really good idea. However, I am really concerned about the hidden costs. They will have to buy a number of licences for the software and then they may decide to buy the support package as well so that will add up. But the main costs are the lost man hours. Yes, the system will probably make the team more efficient in the long run but in the short term they will have to take time to get used to using the system. They will have to move the data across to the new one and may even attend training courses which will obviously cost more money. They will be slow for a while, during the learning process. All of these small costs will add up, At this time, when so many companies are going out of business, I am afraid that even such a small purchase, could have a detrimental effect on our company. I think that if we can stop little spends like this across the board, maybe just for a year or so, we much reduce the risk of the company getting into trouble. At the moment the company is fine and I am sure all the employees and customers would like it to stay that way. I am therefore doing my best to keep it running efficiently and as cheaply as possible to look after everyone as best as I can.
