Purchase Decisions
I am in a dilemma at the moment trying to work out which netflow analysis and sflow analysis software to buy for my business. I own a small company you see and we cannot afford to make mistakes when it comes to purchasing decisions or we may not have enough money left to finance other projects. It is especially hard in these tough economic times as hearing about businesses, large and small, going bust makes you worry a lot and seems to make every decision which involves spending some precious money all the harder, regardless of how much of a good thing it will be for our company. I have asked my staff about the software and they have given me differing opinions and this makes my decision even harder. One particular type is better for one and another for the other staff member. I can understand their points of view and agree with them, but because I need them to be working together and for everything to be compatible, I can only buy the one piece of software. They were both very understanding of the situation and said that they could manage with an alternative to the one they had chosen and that again made my decision even harder. I think I will have to look at some customer reviews, the cost and the reputation of the company selling it. Then I will have to try to predict which one will be most useful in the future if our company expands. Hopefully that will allow me to be able to make this decision and get rid of this mountain of stress. I guess the stress will follow me though, as I am sure that I will continue to wonder whether I have made the correct decision with regards to my purchase even in years to come.
